January - November...

In early 2010 Julian was offered a senior position with a financial services company in Singapore.  Although it was tough to leave our lovely house and life in Bramley, the never-ending increase in taxation, steady decrease in opportunities and general unpleasantness dished out to those working in financial services in London made it a fairly easy decision in the end.

Julian is now settled in a new role, Yasmin has a new school and many new friends, So Young is generally happier being in Asia and closer to her family, and the cat catches crickets as large as mice.  

There is a steady stream of people and companies arriving in Singapore as the UK and Europe do their best to destroy financial services as an industry and so for us the future looks bright.  As I write this the Singapore Government is debating reducing the top rate of taxation to accelerate the move of talent from London to Singapore.

We have already spent some time in Malaysia, Borneo, Korea and Bali, while Julian’s job keeps him busy travelling between Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta and soon Bangkok.

With all the above happening I have been rather remiss about updating the website, not helped by the fact that my laptop crashed and the original software I used to maintain the site will not work on my new laptop.  Hence the new look to the site...
