



We had the good fortune to be invited to a Chinese wedding in Malaysia during October so took the opportunity to drive up to Kuala Lumpur and spend a couple of days sight seeing. The journey took about four and a half hours without getting lost once despite the fact that the sat nav, for which I have purchased a Malaysia map, did not recognise a single one of the main KL thoroughfares.

Living the high life...
September in Singapore is Formula 1 and the world’s only night race! We have to confess that we had not realised how much else is included in the price of the tickets beyond the opportunity to be stuck in a concrete echo chamber (stair well) with an 8 year old who has her hands over her ears and a brave expression on her face as what sounds like a squadron of fighter jets flies through your head! Must remember to take a different route to the loo next year...

Fast cars, blondes and boats: my kind of life...
November started as October ended with visitors to Singapore for us to entertain, this time in the form of six Koreans including one of So Young’s sisters. Because Koreans get so little vacation, their package tours are packed to say the least. They arrived in Singapore at 6am on a Thursday and were whisked off for breakfast and sightseeing, and then left from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal late the same afternoon for two nights on the nearby Indonesian island of Bataam.
